ChyronHego is a global leader in broadcast graphics creation, playout and real-time data visualization with a wide range of products and services for live television, news and sports production.  We’re growing and looking for an HR/Payroll Generalist to join our team.

The human resource generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management in supporting designated geographic regions. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: payroll, benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance.

The human resource generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management in supporting designated geographic regions. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: payroll, benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance.

Essential Functions

  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; maintains the employee handbook/policies and procedures manual.
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
  • Administers the compensation program; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
  • Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employees.
  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; and maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-pathing program; and writes and places advertisements.
  • Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
  • Maintains company organization charts and the employee directory.
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
  • Previous background with platform implementations such as Talent Management, ADP & Recognition.

Summary/Objective

  • Maintains the integrity of payroll to ensure all employees are paid correctly and in a timely manner
  • Takes ownership of payroll operations
  • Attention to detail and the ability to enter data with consistent accuracy
  • Able to adapt and remain positive during changes to processes and working conditions
  • Process multiple bi-weekly payrolls accurately using ADP Workforce Now to ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency
  • Process new hires, employee changes, terminations and benefit administration on ADP Workforce Now
  • Ensure compliance and adhere to company policies relating to processing of wages and paid time off
  • Provide service to all employees regarding concerns with payroll and benefits, research and troubleshoot inquires
  • Complete any payroll and benefit related mailings, e.g. child support
  • Coordinate resolution with ADP Payroll/Benefit representatives/Insurance carriers to address any inquiries/requests on an on-going basis
  • Maintain processes and audit trails for all payroll transactions, I-9, garnishments, etc. Process and maintain 401(k) transactions and records
  • Maintain paid time off liability in ADP Workforce
  • Answer ADP Workforce audit questions related to payroll and benefits
  • Ensure COBRA compliance
  • Complete appropriate background checks in ADP
  • Payroll filing as needed

Required Education and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree and three years of  prior HR experience
  • Advanced Experience in ADP Workforce Now – Minimum 2 years experience in current position
  • Previous experience with new platform implementations such as Talent Management & Recognition
  • Advanced Experience with Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint

Preferred Education and Experience

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification desired
  • Canadian Payroll Experience
